Mother’s Day Blog Blast with JOHNSON’S® and PBN!

From inherited traits like big brown eyes or a not-so-well-endowed figure to those quirks and pet peeves that rubbed off on us over time, for better or worse we’ve all got a little bit of our mothers in us.

For this Mother’s Day Blog Blast, we want to hear what your mother handed down to you. Did you get her eyes or her smile? Are you both terrified of spiders? Has she passed along heirloom jewelry or antique furniture to you? Tell us what parts of your mother are now a part of you too.

We’re honored to have JOHNSON’S® Brand as our Mother’s Day Blog Blast sponsor again this year. Their second annual Celebrity Hand Me Down charity auction runs from 7 pm PT on Thursday May 7 through 7 pm PT on Thursday May 14, featuring items donated by celebrity moms Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba. All proceeds will benefit the new global JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS® Clean Water initiative via their well-known charitable giving site, Baby Cause.

Here’s how to participate:

Write a post on your blog about what your mother handed down to you. Post anytime this weekend - Friday, May 8 through Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10. Please include links to:

Make sure to send your blog post link to parentbloggers@gmail.com and we’ll round them up on our blog - so give your post a creative title!

What can you win?

We’ve got two $250 VISA gift cards to award at random. Also, we’ll be giving a JOHNSON’S® product package filled with goodies for moms to each of the first 15 bloggers to send us a link to their post.

Johnson’s Baby Cause Blog Blast - Every Day is Mother’s Day

If you’ve spent any time at all this week consuming any sort of media - print, broadcast or online - you’re no doubt aware that Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday. It’s a traditional time for gift-giving, and every retailer out there is working hard to convince us that their product is a Mother’s Day dream come true.

But is it really about a one day extravaganza or a year full of kindnesses and consideration? Has the holiday become less about the actual recognition and more about the gift? We’ve heard from a lot of mothers over the past week about how they want to be recognized this Mother’s Day, and we want to hear from YOU too.

We’ve teamed up with Johnson’s to bring you this special extended Blog Blast to promote their new charitable giving site, Johnson’s Baby Cause, powered by Global Giving. As part of their responsibility to the global community, Johnson’s has hand-selected dozens of charities around the world that mirror their deep commitment to caring for the health and well-being of mothers and children - not just on Mother’s Day, but every day of the year.

Here’s how to participate:

Write a post on your blog anytime before midnight PDT tonight and tell us how you want to be recognized this Mother’s Day. Be sure to include links to http://www.babycause.com and http://blog.parentbloggers.com.

Then send your blog post link to parentbloggers@gmail.com and we’ll add your post to the long list of posts right here (scroll down!) - so give your post a creative title!

Both Johnson’s and PBN are chipping in for the prizes. Ten winners will receive a Johnson’s Mom and Baby product gift basket (thanks to Johnson’s) and $25 credit to donate to the charities of their choice at Johnson’s Baby Cause (thanks to PBN).
