Maybe Baby: An Infertile Love Story - Campaign Launch

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

For Matthew M. F. Miller and his wife Constance, a journey that began with visions of baby toes and onesies quickly turned into a reality of negative pregnancy tests and appointments with infertility doctors. Although the couple’s story of infertility isn’t uncommon, the way Matthew approached this experience is. He created a blog, Maybe Baby, in January of 2007, chronicling this journey from a would-be father’s perspective. His wit, writing and insights quickly won him many a reader. And a natural offshoot? Writing the book Maybe Baby: An Infertile Love Story.

We’ve had many bloggers express interest in reviewing the humorous, honest and heart-warming read. To read their responses to Maybe Baby: An Infertile Love Story, click on the following links (on the scheduled days)!

Ready for the Day! & Ready for Bed! - Campaign Launch

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Sometimes parenting a preschooler feels like a never-ending battle of the wills. Whether you’re trying to prepare your child for the day ahead or get your little one off to bed, sometimes the constant tug-of-war can leave you feeling depleted of patience and energy. But two promising books, “Ready for Bed!” and “Ready for the Day!,” authored by Atlanta-based mom Stacey Kaye, offer hope to parents in need of sanity-saving solutions.

Packed with full-color illustrations, these award-winning books are tailored for children ages three to six and designed to build a child’s emotional intelligence, while teaching adults the language of positive parenting. The end result? Children who are more likely to cooperate with these daily transitions and caregivers who feel more relaxed.

Intrigued? So were a bevy of bloggers who have reviewed the books from Free Spirit Publications. See what they have to say!

Sleep Is for the Weak - Campaign Launch

Monday, August 25th, 2008

One of my favorite aspects of blogging is the camaraderie. It’s amazing to see how we cheer each other on and laud each other’s accomplishments. Books are published every day, but it’s rare to have the opportunity to point to a book on a big-box bookstore shelf and proudly announce: “The author? She’s my friend!”

We at PBN have been thrilled to lead review campaigns for some of our favorite bloggers’ very own books. From the Rookie Moms to Rebecca Woolf, and from White Trash Mom to Felicia Sullivan, we’ve had a wonderful time introducing our author friends to our corner of the Internet.

And now we get to do it again. But this time, instead of introducing just one fantastic author, we’ve got twenty-four of them in the pages of this best-of-the-best anthology, Sleep Is for the Weak.

I suppose we’re a bit biased, considering that PBN co-founder Kristen Chase (Motherhood Uncensored) is a contributor, along with fellow contributors and PBN bloggers Amy Jo Jones (Binkytown), Jennifer Satterwhite (Mommy Needs Coffee), and Jenny Lauck (Three Kid Circus). Top off this list with Sleep Is for the Weak editor and PBN blogger Rita Arens (Surrender, Dorothy), and you’ll see why we can’t help but love this book.

Will the twenty PBN bloggers we’ve got lined up to review Sleep Is for the Weak love it too? Of course they will, lest they face the wrath of Sweetney. (Just kidding, Tracey!)

Check out their upcoming reviews!
