I know i'm too late for the contest, but I have a funny bargain story. I had just gotten a job (i was 17) a few months before Christmas. I have a big family 7 siblings and parents, spouses, kids, etc., and I was very excited to be able to buy them all presents. So, I went shopping for everyone and put it all on layaway with a substantial amount down to hold it for me. I continued to pay for it weekly. I went a few days before Christmas to pick it up and I saw mass confusion at the layaway counter. People were screaming that the staff couldn't find their items. So, shocked, I watched as the staff started giving other peoples purchases to the angry crowd. When it was my turn, of course, none of my stuff was there (tv for my parents, expensive double albums, etc.). I left in tears, told my mother what happened. She then called the store and told them that she was calling the Regional Manager. They told her to send me down and they would take care of it. When I got there the manager told me to go and shop for my items again. Except the tv i had picked out was no longer there, so he told me to get a better one. I went to the layaway desk, the manager handed me all my deposit money and payments that i had made back to me. He also gave me all my purchases for free, and handed me a Whitman's Sampler on the way out!! That was over $700. Great Christmas.
