I am scared to post this for two reasons, 1. the blog mafia will hunt me down and put me in cement crocs and 2. it will come back and bit me in the butt.

We've never had an issue with the kids and going out to dinner. We've been lucky that Thing 1 and Thing 2 have been well behaved on our few and far between outings. They know the rules apply outside our home just as much as they do on the inside.

I will admit that 2 yrs ago we were on a road trip with the boys and after 2 hours of " he did this, he did that" I lost it. I went from 65 miles an hour to a screaming hault on the side of the road. I sternly informed them that I did not want to hear a word out of them for the remaining 45 minutes of the trip or they would both be confined to their bedrooms for the rest of their lives. Yes a bunch of BS I know but it worked.
