Are you a budding sous-chef, or do you need a recipe to make ice cubes? Or, like most of us, are you somewhere in the middle? No matter how skilled you may be in the kitchen, we’re betting you’ve had a cooking calamity or two.
While that kitchen disaster certainly wasn’t funny at the time, now that you’ve put out the fire and cleaned up the mess, it probably makes a great story. Tell us about it - or show us pictures of the sad remains.
In this week’s Blog Blast, your lack of cooking prowess could finally pay off. The American Egg Board is sponsoring the “America’s Worst Cook” competition, and we’re working with Edelman PR to help promote it. Take pride in your cooking foibles and share them in a blog post.
Here’s how to participate:
Write a post describing your worst cooking disaster. Better yet, post pictures! Post anytime this weekend - today through Sunday, June 8.
Make sure to link http://www.americasworstcook.com and http://blog.parentbloggers.com somewhere in your post. Also, please include the following blurb:
“This post was written for Parent Bloggers Network as part of a contest sponsored by the American Egg Board.”
Then email us the link to your post at parentbloggers@gmail.com.
We’ll be linking them up right here all weekend long, so be creative with your title!
What can you win?
An omelet cooking pack, including a non-stick pan, whisk, spatula, oven mitt and apron - all of the key tools to make the perfect omelet!
You’ll also receive a $100 AMEX card (to buy ingredients, of course), plus a reusable eco-friendly “I Heart Eggs” bag to carry all the ingredients home. Two lucky winners to be drawn at random!

I Didn’t Like That Pan Anyway
I *thought* pyrex was pretty much indestructible. WRONG. After cooking my vegetarian chicken roll in a glass pyrex dish, I was surprised to find it encrusted wit fake juice. After lifting out my chicken roll I put the dish in the sink and as I filled it with water it literally burst. I’d say it’s pretty bad destroying a pan by cooking fake meat. It should at least put me in the running for http://www.americasworstcook.com let’s see what the http://blog.parentbloggers.com think.
Wow, this took me way back! I had to join in on this, I emailed my link. Thanks.
