Maiden America Non-Slip Hair Clips - The End of Barrettes Gone Missing (Plus a Blog Blast! And winners!)
Barrettes and clips are a nearly inevitable part of parenting a little girl. Unless you resort to a pixie cut - and some of us have strongly considered it - hair accessories are needed to keep those tresses in check.
And it’s just as inevitable that those myriad barrettes and clips will mysteriously disappear. Like socks, mittens, and sunglasses, hair accessories rarely stick around for long - mainly because they don’t stay put in little heads of wispy hair.
The non-slip hair clips from Maiden America were put to the test by our parent bloggers, and they have passed with flying colors! As one blogger described her experience with these patent-pending non-slip barrettes: “I happen to have two young girls who like to pull their barrettes out so I found this to be a personal challenge. And, you know what? These barrettes are now the only barrettes I will buy. Seriously. They rock.”
The endorsements don’t end there. Not only were these mothers impressed with the non-slip feature - “When they say these barrettes don’t slip - even from fine, silky, hair like [my daughter's] - they are not kidding!!!” - they were astounded by the selection: “I looked at the selection and was blown away by the incredible variety of barrettes and clips.” One mother enthused: “They’re truly works of art made of silk ribbons and flowers and Swarovski crystals,” and another added, “The pictures don’t do them justice.”
So how exactly do these barrettes stay in place? “I don’t even know how to explain the non-slip feature on the barrettes. It’s fuzzy and it kind of grabs the hair,” one mother wrote. Another blogger was simply “pleased and delighted to report that the clips stayed exactly where I’d placed them. No slipping, no sliding - and most importantly, they came home from school with the clips still in their hair.”
No doubt about it - these barrettes are special. As this mother noted: “The barrettes aren’t cheapy made-in-China plastic dohickies. They are quite durable, lovely hair accessories that are hand made by housewives in the Pacific Northwest.” Another agreed: “They’re a bit pricier than traditional barrettes. I’ve found them to be worth it though - buy it once and buy it right.”
Although they all loved the clips, this blogger summed up the experience best: “I give Maiden America props for being mom created, beautiful, and solving a common little girl hair issue like that I’ve heard so many times, I lost my barrettes at school because they fell out at recess. Stuff like that happens, but with Maiden America, it no longer has to.”
