Ladybug and Babybug Magazine Campaign Launch
If you want to open the doors of opportunity for a child? Nurture a life-long love for reading. Early childhood research shows that youngsters (and yes, that includes babies) vastly benefit from someone reading to them a mere 15 minutes a day. Reading is great “brain food” — for everyone!
One way to encourage an interest in reading is through colorful magazines like Ladybug. The 40-page publication engages children ages three to six with lots of crafts, stories and games.
Ladybug’s sister magazine, Babybug, is for the younger set. Written and designed for kids up to the age of three, Babybug is filled with lots of big, bright pictures as well as fun rhymes and simpler stories.
Ten of our bloggers reviewed the award-winning Ladybug and Babybug magazines. To read about their children’s reactions (as well as the parents’ perspectives), visit their sites on these days:

Magazines are great for young readers. I just wrote a grant to get subscriptions to several magazines in my classroom. I teach in a diverse and low-income neighborhood; few of my students get magazines at home. Thanks for spotlighting this great source of reading material!
