I’m always torn when it comes to new television shows, mainly because we’re happy with the ones we have and adding any new ones to the mix means either giving up one we like OR adding in more television time.

And as many parents know, that decision can be very difficult.

But as far as I can tell, adding in Wilbur, a preschool reading show created by three moms, should be a no-brainer. Our bloggers from the first round loved the show as did their kids, and it’s apparent that this group of parents did so as well.

Bloggers noted the repetition in the show as being positive. ” It’s cute and repetitive, as is helpful for this age, without being mind-numbing for grown-ups.” Another mom added “One thing I love is that the story is told more than once, and in different words with the same idea. That is great for teaching kids how to think differently about the same idea and learn new ways to express thoughts.”

While some folks might think it odd for a television show to promote book reading, our bloggers didn’t think that at all. “I love that Wilbur reinforces my goal of having my children develop an early love of books and reading.”

Wilbur can be found daily on daily on Discovery Kids Channel (8am PST/11am EST) and The Learning Channel (6:30am C/MST & 7:30am EST).
