Ryka: Here’s What They’re Saying So Far
Want to know who won the Ryka Blog Blast? Keep reading!
If you’ve ever wished that someone would make athletic shoes for women that were functional and stylish, then you might have just found your match with Ryka. An athletic gear and shoe company that’s for women by women, Ryka has just launched three new shoe styles that our bloggers have been trying out for the last few weeks.
Aside from their comfort, support, and usability, Ryka is known for creating shoes that women want to wear because they look good as well. Whether you’re a walker or a runner (or both), Ryka has shoes that will fit your foot.
For our walkers, it was imperative that the shoes provide support and comfort, while not looking like the stereotypical walking shoe. One blogger noted,”And without hesitation I can say that the MC2 Walk does an excellent job of stabilizing my foot - so much so that I can STOP thinking about how I’m walking.” Another added, “They were so ridiculously, incredibly comfortable that I kind of wanted to wear them to bed. ” This mom felt like the shoes added spring to her step.
And this blogger related her experience to Cinderella.
Then, I met my Rykas. From the moment I slipped them on my feet I felt as content as Cinderella when she donned the glass slipper, beating out her bitchy step-sisters and winning the heart of the prince.
Bloggers were mixed on whether they needed breaking in or not, but either way, both found them to provide excellent cushioning and motion control (either initially or after being worn a few times). “…these shoes are comfortable, provide great cushioning, and provide good motion control.” “The shoes never gave her a blister nor did they cause any pain, even after two weeks of walking through the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Disney’s MGM Studio, and all of the other places, including SeaWorld, that we went during the trial period.” “The true test for me was forgetting I had them on. And the very first time worn, I completely forgot I was wearing new shoes. No blisters, no discomfort, nothing but comfy back, shins, and feet.” “And you know how most new shoes have a break-in period where you just accept that you will suffer for a while? Not happening with these. They slipped on my feet and we had a perfect match from day one. ”
Folks with special considerations, like wide width feet, shin splints, budget, atypical hard to fit feet, runner’s toe (and feet), and narrow heels (that slide out of shoes) should check out these individual reviews.
And of course, the bloggers noted their cool, fresh style. “These shoes have a no-nonsense, minimalist look that I appreciate (also check out the Ryka workout clothes–equally sporty-chic).” “…the MC2’s are lovely to look at. I even wore them to work - something I never do, despite working in a fairly casual environment - and received the compliments immediately. My co-workers wanted to know who made them and where they could get their hands on some.” “The white sneakers available look like my mother might wear them, and if you saw the kinds of sneakers my mother picks out, you’d be assured that this is not a good thing. Thankfully, the MC2 Walk shoes are cute. They are simple, stream-lined, not too wide or flashy, and go with everything.”
We even had a blogger question her brand loyalty. *gasp*
These shoes have made me question everything I thought I knew about my former running shoe Brand Loyalty. How can I go back? These shoes outright fit me and offer both comfort and a clean look that I will absolutely want to find again when I need a new pair. Whatever the deal, I have the feeling that I will be searching these shoes out again.
Our runners had similarly positive things to say about their shoes. Comfortable? Absolutely. “The MC2 Run running shoes fit my feet well and provided ample cushioning and support during my twenty to fifty-minute jogs. These are structurally sound, quality shoes.”
This mom already has her eye on another pair of Rykas. “In fact, after these MC2s reach their mileage, I’m going to get a different pair of Ryka shoes specifically designed for flat feet. ”
We can’t say enough about Ryka’s customer service. And don’t be worried about ordering online if you can’t find a retailer (although they are everywhere!). Listen to this mom’s report: “I have never purchased shoes online before because I have a flat arch and one of my feet is slightly larger than the other, but Ryka has a page that helps you determine the unique shape of your foot and then tells you which shoe will work best for you.”
They’ve been a pleasure to work with. Make sure to check out these reviews, and visit the site to win shoes of your own. They’re giving away 50 pairs a day through October– and an equal number to a fantastic charity! Check out more reviews (from our walkers AND runners).

Are you serious? My GOD. I’m going to have a heart attack.
Holy Hell. (Yeah, I’m a really great Catholic. I just took the Lord’s name in vain and blessed the fiery dungeons.) I think I should be the new spokesperson for Ryka!
Or maybe I’ll just go buy a lottery ticket!!
