With another round of glowing blogger reviews of the Kaboom products they tried out, I’m now convinced that I need to add the NeverScrub! Continuous Toilet Cleaning System to my arsenal of cleaning products (which already includes the Shower, Tub and Tile Spray).

The bloggers definitely agree that the Shower, Tub and Tile Spray is a fantastic product:

• “Kaboom Shower, Tub & Tile Cleaner worked equally well, and actually did make my tired old tiles gleam. It definitely worked best when you followed the directions to let the spray sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing, but if you’re like me and two minutes seems like an eternity to spend cleaning your bathroom, an immediate rinsing still works well.”
• “I thought, What better a test for this purple bottle of Kaboom than my shower floor. I tried it once, waited a few minutes and wiped it off. It lifted the stains a bit. But since they have been there since we moved in practically (which was years ago - double eeew) I gave it one more spray and a little elbow grease (only a little) and KABOOM! It worked. My shower floor looks as good as new!”
• “When testing it in the hall bathroom, which has no windows, I was spared the sting of chemical fumes - my eyes and lungs would like to thank Kaboom for that!”

But as in the earlier set of reviews, the NeverScrub! Continuous Toilet Cleaning System was the product that won the hearts and minds and toilet bowls of our bloggers:

• “I have to say it was remarkably easy to install, even for a non-handy person like myself. One of the things I liked was that it didn’t turn the water a hideous blue color that I’ve seen other cleaning systems do…”
• I have “not had to bend over the porcelain chamber maid to scrub in THREE MONTHS. For more than ninety days, the bowl has looked uniformly clean and shiny.”
• “I have literally only had to scrub my toilet twice since installing the little miracle cleaner over 2 months ago…And I only have to replace this baby every few months which is only makes me love NeverScrub more. I kinda thought the refills might be expensive but no way. Like 6 bucks a refill (they last 3 months).”

And just like in the earlier set of reviews, we had a couple scientific bloggers who engaged in comparison studies and really put NeverScrub to the test:

• “I tested the Neverscrub! Continuous Toilet Cleaning System on our downstairs half-bath. That toilet gets the most traffic, from both of us as well as any visitors.  The results after a few weeks were noticeable. The upstairs toilets looked dirtier than the downstairs one, even though the downstairs toilet had more use.”
• “We have three toilets at our old house. This provided a great comparison. One has the Kaboom Never-Scrub on it; the other two do not. We lived in the house for awhile during our Kaboom trial, but then we moved out a couple weeks ago. Therefore, the system was put to the test both during times of heavy use (including some ill bellies and bums) and during times of sitting water. A seemingly clean toilet can start to look dirty if it sits for awhile.  I was surprised that I was able to see a difference between the Kaboom-toilet and the not-Kaboom toilets. The bloggers differed somewhat in their perception of the NeverScrub scent.  One blogger with an alert sense of smell didn’t care for the scent, but admitted that it was more than offset by how well the product worked: ”The in-tank device (it’s refillable!) sits in its concealed state and is recognizable only by the chemical smell of each flush. When mixed with, say, asparagus pee, it is not pleasant. But mild discomfort in the olfactory zone is a small price to pay for never having to scrub one’s toilet.”  But two other bloggers specifically mentioned the scent as a positive attribute of NeverScrub.  One stated that “The thing I liked best about both of these products was the mild scent…I detest flowery, fruity scents and would prefer mine to have the ammonia smell of a hospital ward…So the slightly soapy, mildly disinfectant scent of Kaboom is a nice compromise.”  And the other agreed: “My favorite part about Kaboom NeverScrub is the fresh scent it gives the bathroom after every flush.”

It’s not surprising that so many of us - men and women alike - hate to scrub the bathroom.  It’s a thankless chore where no matter how thoroughly you clean, in the course of twenty minutes a child (or an adult) can nearly put you right back where you started.  So it’s not surprising that so many of us are fascinated by cleaning products that not only claim to make the job easier, but actually deliver on that promise.  Kaboom Shower, Tub and Tile Cleaner and Kaboom NeverScrub!
