Kermit was such a pessimist.  It’s actually becoming quite easy to be green.

With each new year, we have more opportunities to help minimize our negative impact on the environment, while simultaneously saving money and creating jobs.  The economy and the environment are not mutually exclusive, contrary to what many people once believed.

Among all the ideas that are floated - some within reach, some still pie-in-the-sky - it’s most encouraging to see advances that not only make it to production, but become integral to life as we know it.  As automakers have pioneered new technologies and improved upon them, they’ve become more widely available and more affordable.

Case in point: the Saturn VUE Green Line.  A hybrid SUV with an EPA-estimated 32 miles/gallon on the highway - the best highway fuel economy of any SUV, the VUE Green Line is comparable to many other SUVs both in terms of price and features.  But it wins the prize for fuel economy among SUVs, while providing sufficient space for families (and all the gear that we cart with us everywhere we go).

Fifteen of our parent bloggers will have the opportunity to drive a Saturn VUE Green Line for a week.  They’ll put these hybrid vehicles through real-world tests and report back on how well the VUE Green Line performed.
